These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the letrasdelcamino.com website, the Letras del Camino application and their associated content and services. They should be read together with the information provided for each product and the other applicable policies. Consent to commercial communications and optional authorisations are requested through their respective procedures.
1. Service owner

2. What is Letras del Camino?
Letras del Camino brings together a website about writing, a newsletter and an application offering a Personal Journal, guided journals, add-ons and other resources. Products may include PDFs, app features or both, depending on what is included in each purchase.
The application operates primarily on your device. It uses its own account system to manage access and associated products. Subscribing to the newsletter does not replace or create an application account.
3. Account and free Personal Journal
To access your library, create an account or sign in using the relevant credentials. Choose an appropriate username and keep your personal key secure. Account information must be used only by the account holder or someone legally authorised to act on their behalf.
The Personal Journal can be activated free of charge directly in the application, without providing an email address or subscribing to the newsletter. Subscribing, unsubscribing or choosing not to read our emails does not affect this activation or any purchased products.
4. Personal and permitted use
You may write, add photographs, complete guided journals, use add-ons, review your history and create documents or backups of your content using the available features.
You may also import content from compatible formats used by other applications and export your data using the available options. Compatibility depends on the structure and version of the original or destination files. These operations are processed locally in your browser, without prejudice to your decision to save the resulting files in locations or external services of your choice.
You must not use the service for unlawful purposes, access other people’s accounts, share or manipulate licences, introduce malicious code or abusively interfere with the systems. These restrictions do not prevent uses authorised by law.
5. Your writing and rights
The writing, photographs, answers and reflections you create remain yours. Letras del Camino does not acquire ownership of them or permission to publish them, analyse them commercially or use them to train artificial intelligence.
Your journal is a private space. There is no general community publishing feature, and the service owner does not moderate your private writing. If you choose to share an exported PDF, photograph or text, please check what information it contains before doing so.
6. Storage and encryption
Private content is stored in encrypted form on your device. Local functionality uses browser storage and application files. Some settings and functional metadata, such as language or progress, are stored separately from private journal text.
Under the current model, authentication processes your personal key on your device and sends a derived proof to the server. Older accounts that have not yet migrated may need to complete the private migration process indicated by the application before using this model.
An open session or a shared device may allow someone else to see content displayed on the screen. Use the available locking options and protect physical access to your device.
7. Full local backups and restoration
You can create and download a full encrypted backup. In compatible browsers, you may also select a local folder and enable the available automatic backup features. Access to that folder depends on the permissions granted and the browser’s capabilities.
Keep the relevant backup key safe and check the status and date of your backups before making important changes. Automatic backups may stop if permissions are revoked, the app is not running or the device cannot save files.
Restoring a backup recovers the content included in that backup, subject to the application’s checks. You should not assume that an unlimited version history is available or that all earlier changes can be recovered. A backup does not grant access to products or replace the entitlements associated with your account.
8. Google Drive
Google Drive is optional. You must authorise the connection through Google and have sufficient storage space and a compatible account. The requested permission is drive.file. Private files are encrypted on your device and transferred directly between your browser and Google Drive.
WordPress does not store Google access or refresh tokens for this connection. Temporary authorisation may expire and require you to connect again. Automatic features depend on the application, browser, permissions and connection being able to perform them. They do not constitute a guarantee of continuous operation while the app is closed.
Disconnecting Drive on one device does not delete local journals or automatically remove backups stored in Google Drive. You can revoke permissions and manage files directly through Google. The availability of this provider is also subject to its own terms.
9. Synchronisation between devices
Synchronisation allows encrypted information to be exchanged through Google Drive between authorised devices. Check that you are using the correct account and Drive, and review the date of the latest successful synchronisation.
Synchronisation cannot guarantee that conflicts will never occur, particularly if you edit content simultaneously on different devices or work offline. Before switching devices, allow synchronisation to finish and pay attention to any warnings. Synchronisation does not replace an additional backup when you want to preserve an earlier version of your content.
10. Account recovery
From a device that remains linked to your account, options may be available to change your personal key and retain access. If access is lost, recovering purchases may require you to verify the order and associate the corresponding entitlements with a valid account through the available procedure.
Recovering purchases or an account is not the same as recovering your writing. Letras del Camino cannot reconstruct journal entries it has never received or open a private backup without the necessary decryption material. Keep your keys and backups safe.
11. Guided journals, add-ons, resources and PDFs
Your library may include both free and purchased products. Guided journals and add-ons are used according to their intended purposes and available features. PDFs may be read or printed using a compatible reader. Access to one version, format or language does not automatically grant access to every other version or future product.
Activation checks may transmit technical identifiers, licence information and product details, but they do not require the private text of your responses or Personal Journal entries.
12. Purchases and licences
Purchases are completed on Etsy. If a purchase includes an app version, enter your order number under “Activate Product” to verify and link the relevant products. A licence grants the authorised right to use a product but does not transfer ownership of its intellectual property.
Respect the device limits and scope of the licence stated for each product. Do not publish, resell or redistribute materials or activation keys. Your own writing remains yours, even when you create it using a purchased product.
13. Signing out, deleting your account and managing backups
Signing out restricts access through the current session, but it does not mean that all local or external files have been deleted.
The “Delete Account” option requires confirmation and authentication. It deletes your account and associated device and product links from the server, and removes the journals, responses, progress and settings linked to that account from the device on which you perform the operation. The app notifies you if the browser cannot complete the local clean-up.
Before confirming, download an encrypted backup if you want to preserve your content. The operation does not automatically delete downloaded files, backups stored in external folders, Google Drive files or data remaining on other devices. It also does not automatically unsubscribe you from the newsletter or delete Etsy order records.
14. Updates
Updates may fix errors, strengthen security, maintain compatibility or introduce new features. Some operations may require an updated version of the application, browser or operating system. Significant changes will be communicated, and legal rights associated with purchased content or services will be respected.
Keep a valid backup before making important changes to your devices. Updating the application does not, by itself, guarantee that an automatic version history of your writing will be available.
15. Compatibility and offline operation
Capabilities vary depending on your browser and operating system. PWA installation, persistent access to local folders, local storage capacity and background operation depend on the device. Features available locally while offline do not make purchase verification, downloads or Google Drive connections available offline.
Private browsing, cleaning tools and device resets may erase stored data. Check your backups before deleting application or browser data.
16. Availability and security
We endeavour to keep the website, activations and updates operational, but interruptions may occur due to maintenance, technical incidents or service providers. Encryption and security measures are applied, without guaranteeing that all risks can be eliminated.
Protect your devices, credentials and backups, and pay attention to any warnings. These precautions do not exclude the liability of Letras del Camino for breaches attributable to it or restrict consumers’ legal rights.
17. Journaling and health
Our tools are intended for writing and reflection. They do not provide medical, psychological, therapeutic or healthcare services and are not a substitute for qualified professionals. In an emergency, contact the appropriate professional or emergency services.
18. Website and newsletter
The website’s articles are editorial and informational. The website does not currently provide public comments or a user community. Newsletter subscriptions are voluntary and managed through Letras del Camino’s own WordPress subscription plugin, with separate lists for each language. Registration requires acceptance of the consent statement and confirmation of your email address through the link received. After confirmation, you may receive a welcome email and, where applicable, content, updates and promotional communications related to the project.
The plugin records subscription status and technical sending results, but does not measure individual email opens or clicks. You can unsubscribe from one mailing list or all lists using the links provided in each email, or request removal by writing to info@letrasdelcamino.com. Newsletter subscriptions are separate from application accounts. You do not need to subscribe to use the app.
The floating invitation offering a free journal can be minimised so that it remains as a small tab, or closed so that it stays hidden for 90 days in that browser. These preferences are remembered locally and explained in our Cookies and Storage Policy.
19. Misuse and proportionate measures
Access to activations, downloads or updates may be restricted in cases of fraud, attacks, manipulation of activation keys or abusive automation. Any measures will be proportionate to the incident and comply with applicable legal obligations. You may contact us to report an error or request a review. Private journal content is not examined in order to apply these measures.
20. Discontinuation or closure of the service
Letras del Camino may discontinue all or part of its activities or cease providing certain services. Where reasonably possible, affected users will receive sufficient advance notice and be given an opportunity to download or preserve their content and backups using the available features.
Discontinuation of the service does not remove legally acquired rights relating to previously purchased products. Where a product depends on online features, activations, downloads or third-party services, reasonable technically feasible measures will be taken to help users preserve or continue using it, taking into account the nature of the product and applicable legal obligations.
Private content stored exclusively on users’ devices or in their own backups and external services remains under their control. Users are therefore encouraged to maintain up-to-date encrypted backups of any content they wish to preserve.
21. Changes and consumer rights
These terms may be updated to reflect changes in the service or applicable legislation. Significant changes will be communicated appropriately. Updates will not retroactively reduce rights arising from an earlier purchase, and optional consent will not be assumed merely because a user continues to use the website.
22. Applicable law and contact
Applicable Spanish and European law governs these terms, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules in the consumer’s country of residence or the courts legally competent to hear any dispute.
