Letras del Camino brings together your Personal Journal, writing add-ons, guided journals, your PDFs, and the tools you need to preserve or move your memories. You can write several times on the same day, add only what matters to you, and gradually build a journal that is truly personal.
Everything that happens in one day can stay together on a single page
A date can contain one or several writing entries, add-ons used at different times, and guided journals that you choose to add. Everything stays within the same day and in chronological order. Only what you actually write or use appears: you will never see empty sections or labels such as “Not provided” or “Not specified.”
What is Letras del Camino?
It is a journaling and reflection app where you can write freely, use themed tools, complete guided journals, keep PDFs, and bring in writing created in other apps.
Personal Journal
Your main space. Each date brings together everything that happened that day and can contain several writing entries.
Add-ons
Themed tools that add content to your days whenever you want to record something specific.
Guided journals
Standalone journeys with explanations, reflections, questions, and exercises focused on a specific topic.
Import and export
Bring journals in from other apps or take your data with you in open formats and formats compatible with other platforms.
How to start from scratch
All you need to do is install the app, create your account, and open your first entry.
Open Letras del Camino
Go to the Letras del Camino app from your phone, tablet, or computer.
Install the app
Select “Install app” to add it to your device. You can then open it from its own icon.
Create your account
Choose a username, create your personal key, and set up the question you will use to regain access.
Set up your backups
Review the backup section. You can keep local backups and, if you want, connect your own Google Drive to keep an encrypted copy and synchronize multiple devices.
Write your first entry
You can write once or come back later and create another entry within the same date. Everything will stay together on that day’s page.
Username, personal key, and account recovery
Your account keeps your journals, licenses, resources, and devices connected without requiring you to use your real name.
Username
This identifies your account. It can be a nickname and does not have to match the name shown on the cover of your journals.
Personal key
It consists of eight letters or numbers. Together with your username, it allows you to access your account from your devices.
Keep your personal key safe
Your personal key is permanent and is not the same as a key used to activate a journal or purchase. Store it somewhere safe.
Recovery question
When you create your account, you choose a recovery question and answer. If you forget your key, the app will use this information to verify your identity and help you recover it.
Remembered login
You can choose whether the device remembers your login or asks for your username and key each time you open the app. If you share the device, it is best to require your login information every time.
Home: where every entry begins
The Home screen brings together everything you need to start writing and decide what you want to preserve from the day.
Free writing
Open the Personal Journal and write without following a set structure or answering required questions.
Available add-ons
Add Gratitude, Movies, Reading, or other add-ons only when you want to record that type of experience.
Guided journals
Continue the guided journal you are currently working through or discover a new path for reflection.
Your Personal Journal
This is the main journal in Letras del Camino and is included with your account. Each date works as a single page that can bring together several writing entries, add-ons, and guided journals you have added.
Several entries on the same day
Write in the morning, come back in the afternoon, and add another entry at night. Each one keeps its own time and they all remain within the same date.
Title and free writing
Each entry can have its own title and contain anything from a few lines to a longer text.
Text formatting
Use bold, italics, underlining, and lists to give structure to your writing.
Mood
You can record how you feel. If you do not select a mood, that section will not appear.
Tags
Add any tags you need to connect and find your writing later.
Photos
Add images to your memories and keep them with the entry they belong to.
Favorites
Mark especially important entries so you can find them again quickly.
Editing
Return to any entry to correct it, expand it, or add new elements.
Calendar, history, and statistics
Browse your days, find memories, and view both the number of entries and the days on which you wrote.
Printing and PDF
Prepare your entire journal or a selected period for printing or saving as a PDF.
A clean, chronological page for each day
If you write several times on the same day, use an add-on, or add a guided journal, everything stays together under the same date and is arranged naturally. Fields you did not use are not shown.
- Each writing entry keeps its own time.
- If you do not select a mood, no mood section appears.
- If you do not use an add-on, it is not displayed.
- If a field is left blank, it will not appear in the finished entry.
- If you add a guided journal, its full content can appear within that day.
- Labels such as “Not provided,” “Not specified,” or “Empty” are never displayed.
The result looks like a journal, not a form
Even if you used several tools during the day, the finished page presents everything naturally and keeps the order in which it happened.
Add-ons that enrich your days
Add-ons do not create a separate day. They add themed content to the date on which you use them and stay integrated alongside your writing entries.
Gratitude
Preserve what you are grateful for, small positive moments, and the people or experiences that meant something to you.
Movies
Record a movie, your impressions, how it made you feel, and any ideas you want to remember.
Reading
Save your reading experiences, passages, thoughts, and reflections related to a book.
How to use an add-on
Choose the add-on
You can open it whenever you want to record that type of experience, even if you have not yet written a free-form entry that day.
Complete only what you want
Any fields you leave blank are automatically omitted.
Save the content
The add-on stays on the same day’s page and is ordered alongside the other entries according to when you used it.
Guided journals
These are standalone journeys built around a specific topic. They guide you through explanations, examples, questions, and exercises, but the answers and pace are always yours.
Your own journey
Move through it section by section, return to earlier answers, and continue whenever you feel ready.
Finishing does not automatically add it to your journal
When you finish, that completion is saved and its personal PDF is generated. Adding it to your Personal Journal is a separate, voluntary action.
Multiple completions
You can do a journal again without deleting the previous one. Each completion is stored as an independent version with its own PDF.
When you finish a guided journal
- “Finish” saves that completion and generates its personalized PDF.
- “Add to My Journal” adds the full content to the day you choose.
- The added content includes the journal text and your answers, but not your name.
- From the Personal Journal entry, you can open the journal and view the PDF for that saved addition.
- You can edit a completion that has already been finished.
- When editing, you can update an existing addition or keep it as a historical copy and add the edited version on the current day.
- “Do again” creates a new completion without adding it automatically.
- “View all versions” lets you return to every saved completion.
Historical additions do not change on their own
If you keep an earlier addition and later edit the journal, that copy keeps the content and PDF it had at that time. A new addition can show the updated version.
How “My Journals” works
This is the library for everything you have already activated. It brings together both digital versions and PDFs linked to your purchases, always according to the current app language.
Digital
Interactive journals and add-ons appear first so you can open them, continue writing, or view their versions.
Below them are the PDFs you have activated. You can read them inside the Letras del Camino viewer and download them from there.
Digital / PDF filters
You can show only the format you are interested in or display both within the same library.
If a PDF gets a digital version later
If you already activated a product that was initially PDF-only and that same product later receives a digital version, you do not need to buy or activate it again. The digital version will appear automatically alongside your PDF.
Available journals and add-ons
The “Guided journals” and “Add-ons” sections show products in your current language that you have not yet activated, separated into Digital and PDF. Once you activate one, it disappears from there and moves to “My Journals.”
Archived
You can archive journals to remove finished items from the main area without deleting their answers or versions.
Resources and upgrades
This section brings together everything that expands, decorates, or enhances the Personal Journal. These are not guided journals or writing add-ons.
Photo upgrades
Expand your options for adding and preserving more photos within your entries.
Frames
Choose different styles for presenting the photos and memories included in your journal.
Stickers
Add small visual elements to accompany special moments, emotions, or memories.

PDFs, printing, and your journal documents
Letras del Camino distinguishes between your Personal Journal PDF, PDFs generated from your guided-journal completions, and the original printable versions of products.

Exporting the Personal Journal
You can prepare the entire journal or select a date range. Each date keeps together its different writing entries and the rest of that day’s content.

A guided-journal PDF is generated from its content
When you finish a completion, Letras del Camino generates its PDF from the journal’s own text and what you wrote. It can include your name on the cover when appropriate and does not depend on a template that you write over.
Import and export from other apps
Letras del Camino is designed so your memories remain yours. You can bring in journals created on other platforms and also export your data in open formats or formats compatible with other apps.
Preview before importing
Before saving anything, the app shows how many entries it found, which ones are new, which ones had already been imported, and whether any content was omitted.
No accidental duplicates
If you import the same file again, Letras del Camino recognizes entries that were already added and avoids creating unnecessary copies.
Processed locally
Migration files are processed on your device. Your old journals do not need to be sent to the Letras del Camino server.
Platforms supported for import
You can currently bring in content from Day One, Apple Journal, Evernote, Diaro, Diarium, Journey, Notion, and Obsidian, as well as generic CSV/JSON files and the Letras del Camino portable format.
Depending on the source format, the app attempts to preserve the date, time, title, text, basic formatting, tags, location, favorite status, and compatible photos. If a platform contains several entries on the same day, they all remain within the same date as separate entries.

Is your app not listed?
You can contact us and tell us which platform you use. If it has an export format that we can interpret safely, we will consider adding compatibility in a future version.
Purchasing and activating journals, PDFs, resources, or upgrades
One activation can give you access to a PDF, a digital version, or both, depending on the product. Everything remains linked to your account and to the corresponding language.
Complete the purchase
Keep your Etsy order number or the product key you receive.
Open “Activate product”
You can activate the purchase using your Etsy order number or a product key.
The purchase moves to “My Journals”
If it is digital, it will appear in the Digital section. If it includes a PDF, it will also appear in the PDF section.
Future upgrades to the same product are included too
If you bought a PDF and that same product later receives a digital version, the digital version will appear automatically without another purchase.
Your personal key and product keys are different
Your personal key identifies your account. Activation keys apply to specific journals, resources, upgrades, or purchases.
Backups
Your writing is the most valuable part of the app. You can keep encrypted backups of a specific journal or of all your information.
Individual backup
Save the answers, versions, and progress of a specific guided journal.
Full backup
Keep your Personal Journal, add-ons, photos, guided journals, settings, and imported data together.
Automatic local backup
Keeps an up-to-date copy in a folder you choose whenever your device and browser support it.
Google Drive
Keeps an encrypted copy in your own Drive and helps keep multiple devices up to date.
What a full backup can include
- All Personal Journal entries, including several writing entries on the same day.
- Content created through add-ons.
- Photos and other linked elements.
- Answers, completions, and versions of guided journals.
- Historical additions and their related data.

Google Drive and multiple devices
You can connect your own Google Drive to keep an encrypted copy of your data and synchronize changes across your phone, tablet, and computer.
Encrypted backup in your Drive
The backup is stored in the space used by Letras del Camino within your own Google Drive.
Automatic updating
Once configured, the system can keep your data backup up to date without you having to export it manually each time.
Synchronization across devices
Changes can be combined across devices linked to the same account so you can continue writing wherever you prefer.

Install the app
Open Letras del Camino on the new device.
Sign in with your information
Use the same username and personal key.
Restore your library
Products linked to your account become available again.
Connect Drive or restore a backup
This restores your entries, photos, completions, and other private data as well.

Letras del Camino does not need to read what you write
Your account, devices, and purchases can be managed without using the personal content of your journals.
Using the app offline
Once the app is installed and the required content has been downloaded, you can continue writing and viewing your local data without an internet connection. You will need a connection for new activations, online recovery, updates, purchases, and Google Drive features.
